The Mosinee Area Chamber of Commerce and Village of Kronenwetter partnered to host the Bike & Walk for the Health of It event at Towering Pines Park in Kronenwetter yesterday evening. The event saw a record number of participants that were able to enjoy a night of family fun and the wonderful May sunshine. Four lucky youth rode away with new bikes and all of the kids were able to walk away with a door prize thanks to the many sponsors that made the event possible.
This family event included a short presentation on bike and pedestrian safety from Kronenwetter Police Officers Gorell and McCaskill and had three route options for participants; a 1-mile walking route, a basic 3-mile bike route, and an advanced 9-mile bike route. Once bikers and walkers returned to the park, water and snacks were available for all participants. Thanks to a sponsorship from Stine Eye Center, Aspirus, O’Reilly Auto Parts, Ontogeny Advertising and Design, Two’s Company, Breitenfeldt Associates, Kwik Trip, The Waraksa Group at Coldwell Banker, and The Wausau Wheelers, the event was a terrific success.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Chamber office on May 14 to celebrate our open house, meet staff and register for door prizes. It was fun to meet everyone and find out who was out and about at all the community sales and the treasures they discovered.
Winners of the door prizes: Judy Kusiak, Joe Glatczak, Marie Swita, Gail Digman, Pat Kramer and Diana Harris.
Thank you to community members, Board members and staff who brought in food. It was delicious!
